Detroit natives Boldy James and Antt Beatz join for ‘Hommage’, a cinematic new venture out now by way of EMPIRE.

In the present day, the acclaimed Detroit wordsmith connects with completed producer Antt Beatz to launch ‘Hommage’, their new collaborative venture, and Boldy’s fifth new album of 2025.

A fixture in Detroit’s underground for almost twenty years, Boldy James typically solid his personal path via the music business, collaborating with nationwide figures and linking up with East Coast behemoths like Westside Gunn and The Alchemist.
With Hommage, Boldy steeps himself within the sounds of his hometown, attempting his hand on the booming Detroit sound that has taken over rap music this decade.
He finds the proper manufacturing associate in Antt Beatz, who has been a favourite for Detroit artists since his work with Workforce Eastside within the early 2010s, and has since crafted hits for artists like Lil Child, Tee Grizzley, 42 Dugg, and Icewear Vezzo.
With occasional help from co-producers like Helluva on “Tetris” and “Tremendous Mario”, Antt offers Boldy with a widescreen tackle the 313 sound, crafting instrumentals with creeping pianos, subsonic bass, and atmospheric synth pads, completely suited to nighttime drives and illicit actions.
Boldy makes use of the cinematic backdrop to raise his avenue narratives, including a visceral oomph that provides the album the brooding thrills of a Michael Mann movie.
