Kansas Metropolis-based artist Jared Bond channels a timeless power-pop and rock cohesion on new single “Love and Cause.” Its reference to like as a “chugging engine” and supply of power imparts a constructive message, with additional encouragements — that change is pure, and that it’s okay to let go of the previous — melding with jangling guitars and harmonious vocal layers. “The world is altering, am I shedding my place?” his heart-aching vocals proceed, introspective and approachable. The monitor — which was made in collaboration with David Bennett of Akkilles — is an intensive success with reference to its manufacturing and melodic drive.
Conjuring an aesthetic reminding fondly of Matthew Candy in its combination of warming power-pop and weak lyrical entrancement, “Love and Cause” unfolds with magnetic attract. Bond’s vocals refer to private decisions, and their shadow-like looming impacts, transfer with climactic enjoyment into the blissful central hook — advising “you don’t want to return” and to “let go of the previous” as mellow, layered guitars and mild rhythms coexist alongside. “What could possibly be extra human than that?” the vocals punctuate there, bolstering the monitor’s sympathetic, comforting thematic qualities. “Love and Cause” is a totally inviting success of a monitor from Jared Bond, who together with Bennett recorded it at Kansas Metropolis’s Aorist Studios, the place they dealt with all of its instrumentation.
