Finland’s loss of life steel trio Tormentor Tyrant is about to escalate the cruelty with their debut full-length album, Extreme Escalation of Cruelty, arriving January 24 on Eternal Spew. Following the success of their ferocious self-titled EP in 2022, this album marks a big evolution for the band, amplifying their uncooked, old-school loss of life steel strategy to new ranges of unrelenting brutality.

Full of razor-sharp riffs courtesy of S. Envenom (guitars/vocals), a crushing low finish from M. Malignant (bass/solos/vocals), and J. Carnage’s (drums) relentless percussive barrage, “Torture Divine“ captures the uncooked power and visceral chaos of loss of life steel’s early life.
The band provides this ominous introduction to the monitor: “Welcome to the 12 months 2025. The 12 months when Escalation will probably be extreme. Cruelty will probably be unimaginable. In ‘Torture Divine’ The True Endure Lord, Tormentor Tyrant, will torment the false god itself. Mankind by no means had an opportunity.”
Shaped in late 2020 by seasoned veterans of the Finnish underground, Tormentor Tyrant started as a ardour mission fueled by a love for early Deicide. That includes members of Corpsessed, Solothus, Tyranny, Profetus, and Cataleptic, the band rapidly transitioned from protecting classics to crafting their very own malevolent soundscapes. Drawing from the late ’80s and early ’90s loss of life steel scene and the savage underground actions of South America and Europe, Tormentor Tyrant channels feral depth with uncompromising execution.
Extreme Escalation of Cruelty was recorded at Furnace 5034 and Rehearsalucifer Studios and produced completely by the band. With influences like Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, and Malevolent Creation, this debut guarantees to ship loss of life steel in its purest, most savage kind.
