With members unfold throughout Europe—Germany, The Netherlands and Greece—and with expertise in outfits like Kamelot, Paul Di’Anno and Wastefall, Philosobia are a pan-Euro steel quintet with a wide range of influences at play. On their newest single, “The Forgotten Half I,” you may undoubtedly hear the prog steel facet of their sound—full with keyboard thrives and powerful, clear melodic vocals—however there’s an intense heaviness of their drop-tuned riff work, as nicely. On the eight-plus-minute reduce, the quintet—Andreas Ballnus (guitar), Alexander Landenburg (drums), Domenik Papaemmanouil (vocals), Tobias Wergerber (keyboards), Sebastian Heuckmann (bass)—thunder via a moody plea for mercy for Planet Earth.

The Fixed Void was engineered, recorded, blended and mastered by Phil Hillen at SU2 Studios in Germany. It’s set for launch July 11 on CD and digitally. Guitarist Andreas Ballnus had this to say in regards to the observe:

“‘The Forgotten Half I’ tells the story of Gaia’s view on how people have handled her. In Greek mythology, Gaia stands for Mom Earth, generally known as the primary to come up from the primal chaos. As a response to all of the issues people have accomplished to Mom Earth, she strikes again within the type of tsunamis, earthquakes, wildfires, and so forth. After the people understand how fallacious they handled the planet and that the ultimate hour is close to, they remorse their egocentric habits and actions from the previous and attempt to persuade Gaia by attempting to take refuge in faith. However all of the prayers stay unheard, and all of the reward is ignored.

As a lot as I want that the lyrics have been fictional, I actually consider that we’ve got tousled this planet massive time. Just like the lyrics say: ‘She witnessed the delivery of a dying race.’ From a philosophical standpoint, humankind most likely was speculated to behave like that and are a part of a divine plan. No matter that divinity is likely to be.”
