Gothenburg trio Lommi have been laying the lumber for practically 20 years—and so they have the beards to show it—however there was an extended hiatus in there, so new album 667788, which we’re streaming in full right here, was some time within the making. On the eight-track effort, nonetheless, the band—Jens Florén (vocals/guitar), Dennis Österdal (bass), Jörgen Tjusling (drums)—reveals no indicators of rust. Their Clutch-meets-Melvins, groove-laden steel is loaded with catchy riffs, a thunderous rhythm part and gnarled grunge aesthetic. 667788 is darkish, moody and packs a strong sonic wallop.
The album was produced by the band, with mixing by Svein Jensen. It was mastered by Johan Reivén and is ready for digital launch through Majestic Mountain on August 1. Place your preorder right here.
The band had this to say about its new full-length:
“The wait is lastly over! After greater than a decade within the shadows, we’re again and louder than ever. Our new album, 667788, is right here and we couldn’t be extra proud to share it with you. It’s filled with crushing riffs, bone-shaking grooves, and all the pieces you’ve come to anticipate and from Lommi. This isn’t merely a comeback, it’s an announcement. A timeless, unapologetic slab of steel that proves our sound and vitality are stronger than ever, although we’re all older now. Flip it up. Inform a pal. Let’s increase some hell.”
