Daron Malakian and Scars On Broadway have simply introduced their impending third album, Addicted To The Violence.
Following 2018’s Dictator, the band’s new full-length is due out on July 18, with Daron calling it “among the finest stuff I’ve to supply”. He provides that he’s “simply as pleased with Scars as I’m of System Of A Down”, and that he’s “blessed that I can nonetheless do that and write songs on daily basis”.
To mark the announcement, Scars… have unleashed lead single (and album opener) Killing Spree, which Daron explains is a “taboo subject folks is likely to be afraid to speak about. Children have rebelled ceaselessly. Psychological problems have all the time been there too. Within the final 15 years, we’ve seen a technology that can stroll into college and kill different college students.
“I’m not glamorising or advocating it. I’m simply saying, ‘The youngsters are on a fucking killing spree.’ It’s what I see in entrance of me. I’m not simply speaking about killings both. You’ll see a woman who’s getting overwhelmed up on the subway and other people round her aren’t even serving to; they’re fucking recording on their iPhones. We had computerized weapons 50 years in the past, and no one was doing this. I blame the mindset. We now have a technology that’s so indifferent and desensitised. They’re completely unemotional and unempathetic. There’s no respect for all times.”
