Talking of unmitigated struggling… FED ASH! These Binghamton badasses play the kind of anti-life funeral doom grind that actually eviscerates your soul and makes you query your very existence. Not since Ethan McCarthy from Primitive Man’s previous band, the legendary Clinging to the Bushes of a Forest Fireplace, have I encountered such actually misanthropic and miserable grind. The doom passages are haunting and when the band will get to it’s blasting, look the fuck out. One teaspoon of this is sufficient to make your common church woman shit her pants.

Rotting Exuberance, self-released. Is October too late for an album-of-the-year contender? I feel the fuck not. This one twists and writhes with utter agony and despair whereas nonetheless discovering loads of time for wallop and pummel. Their are many standout tracks for me however none extra so than ‘Merging’ with its twisted mathematical intro that seems like early Dillinger Escape Plan churned up in a blender with some unhealthy acid. Let the candy struggling engulf your virgin ears.
