Octavia Freud and The Weird Sisters – Mancbeth Remixed – Album Review

The unique CD launch of Mancbeth was a triumphant, psychedelic journey into the imagined various Manchester drug world, full with swirling atmospherics, and coronary heart pumping rhythms, with a particular New Order style. The remix album takes us extra into Pleasure Division territory, encompassing a David Cronenberg nightmare really feel, diving deeper into the demonic gutters and beneath-the-skin hallucinations of its Shakespeare influenced characters. The erotic, S&M infused ‘More durable, Sooner’ will get the blood pumping, and the nether areas tingling, because of synth/post-punk duo Means Of Manufacturing; dragging us deep into Clive Barker territory. Invincible (Flights Of Helios remix) provides a lighter contact with angelic voices soothing our brows, whereas ‘Huge Enjoyable, Little City’ is a jaunty, perky little tune, with a ghostly undertone, remixed by Moogieman.
